Tip of the Week: Sub-Plantar Phytonutrients

By PropaneFitness · April 1, 2011

The plantar fascia is a sheet of muscular tissue on the sole of the foot that provides a fantastic channel for optimum absorption of certain phytonutrients. Phytonutrients are tissue-protective, disease preventing and endocrine supporting compounds that are essential for health.

Just like plants absorb nutrients through their roots, an effective mode of absorption is through the plantar fascia. It’s likely this is a vestigial pathway traceable to our evolutionary roots.

What this means for you, is that you can take advantage of this natural absorptive channel. The most comprehensive source of antioxidants, minerals and B vitamins (all great for optimal functioning of health and fat loss) all happen to be found in bombay mix. That’s right, pop down to your local asian supermarket and pick up a bag of nutrients for much cheaper than a bottle of multivitamins.

Great source of phytonutrients

To maximise bioavailability, you must increase the surface area of the nutrient sources. The best method we have found is to take 30g of the mix, grind it up into a fine powder and put it into your socks. That way, when you walk around, you are naturally absorbing the phytonutrients throughout the day.

That, my friends, is today’s tip of the week.
